Here is a picture of a typical Philippine kitchen.
Do you notice some odd things?
1. The top cupboards are placed so high (actually to the ceiling) that no
person could even use them.
2. The location of the sink is worthless. How would one stand to even use it?
Also, with no "toe-kick" below, you would have back problems in no time.
Notice also the sink is placed all the way back to the wall.
There are many different standards that are used, that if you are not aware of them, your house will have these "mistakes". It would be easier to prevent them from happening in the first place, than ripping them out and redoing it your way. |

hi Pluma,
I noticed that our kitchen cabinets are very similar with the picture, except for the sink... Anyway, i guess on pinoy's point of view, cabinets are just mainly for display, not really for its function, LOL... That's what i asked to my sis, that why is it that the cabinets are so high? They said, the top part will be only for display... So i dont know, i dont get it also, but they will be the one living there anyway, hahaha.... But our sink was great, i really like it...
