Here is a bad example of an entrance way.



The stoop being the same width as the door does not leave any room for the person trying to open the door. This is especially a problem as the door opens outwards. Also notice there is no threshold. This is very common in the Philippines. Also, I wonder how slippery those tiles can get when wet.

They should have extended the stoop, as the example below shows.
